Teachers Learning at Behlen
Behlen participated in the Return-To-Work program this summer with four educators from area schools. Betty Shanle, who teaches computers and accounting at Twin River Public School, along with Thomas Wheeldon, the FFA instructor at Schuyler Central High School, participated in the program on June 23 and 24. In action taken by the board, the following action items were approved: Adding three new classes to the curriculum for next school year. Those classes include mechatronics and Cisco Academy, which are technology courses, and a required speech class. (more...)
CPS board wants input on block schedule
A presentation was also given by Matt Gotschall on the partnership between the college and the high school. Gotschall said it is becoming more important to get students interested in going into manufacturing and industrial technology areas because there is a growing need for workers in those areas.

Introduction to Mechatronics
Central Community College-Columbus is a site where skills in the Mechatronics field are being taught through a new Mechatronics Education Center. The first-of-its-kind center in the country is being built with a $1.64 million Department of Labor grant awarded to the college.
